Technology for Education by receiving the Outstanding IT Talent Award (Mr. James
Chang, President) and Outstanding Product and Application Award (AVerPen) from 2009
Taipei IT Month.

AVerMedia AVerPen, an interactive digital pen, is a unique innovation by integrating
the popular features of Interactive Whiteboard, voting system, wireless slate, and
wireless presenter all into one product. Together with our self-developed AVer+*
software as the solution platform and a projector, the traditional one-way teaching
approach is instantly converted into two-way interactive learning. A set of standard
AVerPen pack comes with one Teacher Pen and four Student Pens and more Student Pens
can be added as required. Simultaneous group learning is made possible with AVerPen.
With the AVerPen solution, students can participate in collaborate group or inter-group
discussions, up to 60 students can simultaneously answer teacher’s question
using the voting feature, thus encouraging the students to proactively interact
with the teacher or other students in class. In addition, the AVerPen solution can
integrate with AVerVision visualizers to show real-time work presented by the students,
creating a smart and interactive learning environment.
This year, the judges at 2009 IT Month selected 10 outstanding talents and 24 outstanding
products from numerous qualified candidates and some most competitive quality products,
respectively. The Outstanding IT Talent Award goes to people who have made great
contributions to Taiwan’s IT industry in IT Research, Education Technology
Development, and Information Technology Promotion, Management and Application. On
the other hand, the Outstanding IT Product and Application Award goes to excellent
innovative products and services that advance the standard of the overall IT industry
development in Taiwan.
